What is 9K Gold?
Gold purity is measured in karats based on 24 karats being pure gold. 18K means the gold is 18 out of 24 karats pure: 18 parts gold to 6 parts alloy. 9K means the gold is of lower purity, only 9 parts gold to 15 parts alloy.
The more carats it is, the more valuable it is.
10K is the minimum US standard and is 41.6% gold with other base metal.
9K is available in Europe and contains 37.5 % gold.
